This service is particularly actual when downsizing is executed. An outplacement is one of best HR practices, a usual service in many European countries, being also a sign of socially responsible organization.
The purpose of outplacement consultations is to make an employee better prepared for the changes and a further career. Sometimes companies use this service in case of notification or replacement of executives.
Outplacement process consists of 4-6 consultations which include:
- Providing empathy and support during the process of change
- Assessment programme that helps an employee to understand his/her strengths and limitations in a labour market and areas for improvement
- Consultations on a labour market situation and compensation levels
- Helping to prepare a well-considered CV and motivation letters; practical advises about behavior in job interviews and salary negotiations
